Core Rights

C4 acquires an exclusive extendable licence under its Commissioning Agreement in the Core C4 Service Rights and the Support Rights.  These rights are listed in Column 1 and Column 3 of Schedule 1 (together referred to as "Core Transmission Rights") in the Agreement and the definitions for each right can be found in the General Terms.

The licence period of C4's rights commences upon signature of the Commissioning Agreement and expires 3 years from technical acceptance of all the programmes.  

VOD Rights

For information of C4's exploitation of VOD rights please refer to Clause 19 of the General Terms of the Commissioning Agreement.

Core Secondary Transmission Rights
The Core Secondary Transmission Rights are described in Column 2a of Schedule 1 in the Commissioning Agreement.

Secondary Rights (including Consumer Products Rights)

The Secondary Rights are described in Schedule 2 of the Commissioning Agreement and the definitions for each right can be found in the General Terms.

Net Receipts

The split of Net Receipts can be found in Clause 12 of the Commissioning Agreement.

Music and Clearances

The Production Company is responsible for 3rd party clearances (music/archive/stills etc).

'Cleared' means agreed and paid for within the budget/price to C4.

'Clearable' means the rights can be acquired in the future (as agreed with the rights holder) but have not been paid for within the budget/price to C4.

Silvermouse

Producers are now required to complete their Programme as Completed form data on Silvermouse.  Silvermouse is an on-line PAC form system developed by Soundmouse with advice and guidance from C4.
