Royalty comes to E4... Well, almost

THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY THE E4 PRESS DEPARTMENT TO THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM:

Georgie Carlton, accompanied by his sister Poppy Carlton, will be gracing the United States of America with an unsanctioned State visit at the invitation of E4, as a result of the channel’s latest acquisition.

Following young aristocratic siblings Georgie (Ed Gamble) and Poppy Carlton (Amy Hoggart), Almost Royal is an unofficial royal tour through America. The seven part comedy-reality series will follow the brother and sister duo on their first trip to the United States – and document what happens when the 50th and 51st in line to the British throne come in contact with real-life Americans.

From New York to Los Angeles, the Carlton duo have agreed to a camera crew recording their encounters with everyday Americans as they travel across the States in a revealing portrait of aristocratic life on the road. After enjoying a privileged upbringing at Caunty Manor, the siblings are keen to spread their wings and see the world. But after a rather sheltered childhood, how will one cope with a dilemma greater than telling their butler what they want for lunch?

Almost Royal is due to broadcast on E4 this autumn.
