Film4 is challenging aspiring filmmakers to recreate iconic moments from its 30-year film history for Scene Stealers, a new creative talent search launched under its innovation banner Film4.0.

Scene Stealers aims to discover brilliant new talent - in particular those working in other creative mediums, in new ways, or with new technologies - by tasking entrants with reimagining renowned scenes from past Film4 productions, in just two minutes or under.

The best entries will be judged by a panel of established directors and industry professionals with Film4.0 Commissioning Editor Anna Higgs. The overall UK winner will receive mentoring from Film4.0 and a cash prize to develop their own original short film project - a real line into taking the next steps in their career.  In addition, the ultimate International and UK winners will have their films broadcast on the Film4 channel, and a showcase of entrants' work will be curated for Film4.com to be seen by the industry, peers and film fans alike. 

Now in its 30th anniversary year, and having collaborated with some of the greatest directors of the past three decades, Film4 has an impressive selection of celebrated films to provide inspiration to filmmakers.

Legendary moments can be chosen from a wide selection of Film4 titles, including Rita, Sue and Bob Too (Alan Clarke), Shallow Grave (Danny Boyle), Secrets & Lies (Mike Leigh), Trainspotting (Danny Boyle), The Warrior (Asif Kapadia), Croupier (Mike Hodges), This is England (Shane Meadows), Sexy Beast (Jonathan Glazer), 24 Hour Party People (Michael Winterbottom), Dead Man's Shoes (Shane Meadows), Kill List (Ben Wheatley), The Iron Lady (Phyllida Lloyd), In Bruges (Martin McDonagh) and The Inbetweeners Movie (Ben Palmer).

Anna Higgs, Commissioning Editor for Film4.0, says: "Film4.0 is all about innovation, whether it's finding new ways of making films with established filmmakers, or discovering brand new creative pioneers.  We devised Scene Stealers as a brilliant and fun way to combine both elements - using Film4's rich heritage as a springboard to inspire undiscovered talent and original ways of storytelling. 

"My advice to entrants?  Be bold, be original, be distinctive.  Take an iconic moment and give it your own special spin.  We really want to find our future cinematic storytellers, so show us what you've got!"

Entries can be submitted online from 12th June, with the closing date for receiving entries 31st July.  Winners will be announced in August.
