Gemma grew up on a farm in the middle of the Gloucestershire countryside. She lives 10 miles from the nearest club and £60 in a taxi each way so going out at night isn’t really an option for her. She’s worried about the social aspect of University as she’s not been out drinking that much before and isn’t used to staying up late. She is terrified of parties finishing at 4am!    

She’s expected to help out a lot on the farm and can’t wait to escape all her chores and have her own life. She says she’s looking forward to being able to work away from her parent’s glare.

When Gemma moved to Leicester she left her heart behind in Gloucestershire. She is constantly on the phone to boyfriend Ben, texting and calling at any chance she gets. Ben is a bit older and works in a bank and Gemma is definitely worried about leaving him behind as he’s been to university and is convinced she won’t have time for him once she starts her course.

Will constant phone/text contact be enough to sustain young love? Or will the distance between them make romance difficult?
