In this first episode of the new series, something strange is happening deep in the depths of the zoo's aquarium. Male cardinal fish Richard is incubating eggs and carrying the fry in his mouth until they're ready to be released. But as the shoal hatches, he struggles to keep them safe from his circling, cannibalistic neighbours who sense a fish buffet is in the offing.
