Shameless US kicks off and breaks record

The new series of Shameless US on More4 kicked off to a glowing start last night, peaking at 574,000 with a 3.3% share and making it the highest-rating new series launch ever on More4.

The US adaptation of the hit C4 series written by Paul Abbott stars William H. Macy as everyone's favourite intoxicated patriarch, Frank Gallagher.

The strong performance reflects More4's continued success with its drama acquisitions, which include The Big C  (peaking at 311,000), Brothers and Sisters (329,000) and The Good Wife (388,000).
