TX: 8 X 45 min episodes starting November on Channel 4

Topical stand-up show Stand Up For The Week is returning to Channel 4 this November for a fifth series with eight brand-new episodes.

After becoming a firm favourite with viewers last series, Paul Chowdhry will be stepping up to the hosting plate. Joining Paul are SUFTW regulars Seann Walsh and Josh Widdicombe and introducing three new team members; Simon Evans, Romesh Ranganathan and Angela Barnes.

Commissioning Editor for Entertainment, Madeleine Knight said: “Stand Up For The Week has become an established platform for great new comedy talent, helping to launch the careers of Jack Whitehall, Kevin Bishop and Jon Richardson. This season’s line-up features three brand new faces, and we are very lucky to be bringing back the brilliant Seann Walsh, Josh Widdicome and new host Paul Chowdhry”

Returning to a Friday night slot on Channel 4, Stand Up For The Week takes a humorous and no holds-barred alternative look at the big stories of the week, as seen through the eyes of some of the country’s best new comedians. Each comic will be giving their unique and hilariously razor sharp take on their own specialist area, including the week’s news, politics, sport and showbiz shenanigans.

Filmed at the Clapham Grand in South London, the show will be recorded in front of a live audience, recreating the atmosphere and unpredictability of a live stand-up comedy gig.

Stand Up For The Week is an Open Mike Production for Channel 4 Television commissioned by Madeleine Knight. Series producer is Anthony Caveney and executive producers for Open Mike Productions are Andrew Beint and Addison Cresswell.
