Sunday Brunch Continues To Cook Up A Storm With Second Run on Channel

Category: News Release

Sunday Brunch continues its domination of Sunday mornings with a re-commission from Dominic Bird, Channel 4’s Head of Formats. Since it started in 2012, the programme has been brightening up lazy Sunday mornings serving a tempting mix of celebrity guests, clever cookery and music from some of the most talented artists out there. Sunday Brunch’s audience continues to grow, regularly attracting around 800k viewers which is up +146% on the slot average. The show is enjoying Year on Year gains of +26% and attracts a strong share of 16-34s and ABC1s. The second run, currently on air, is for 52 weeks.

And in a round-up of celebrations the show recently celebrated its first birthday on 24th March and for one week only, Sunday Brunch swapped days and became Weekend Brunch as part of the build-up to the highly anticipated first show of the Grand National on Channel 4. Host Simon Rimmer was live in Aintree cooking up a variety of tempting and delicious recipes whilst Tim Lovejoy was back at the studio.

Dominic Bird, C4’s Head of Formats commented: “Sunday Brunch seems to have become as crucial to our Sunday am rituals as a full English or enjoying the papers.  The show has been on a performance high since the start of the year and we’re looking forward to bringing more guests, recipes, and music in the forthcoming run.”

Henrietta Conrad, Chief Executive at Princess Productions, said "We are delighted that Sunday Brunch has become such a key part of Sunday mornings for the C4 audience and look forward to another year.  Credit must go to Tim, Simon, the production team and all the wonderful guests for making Sunday Brunch a real weekend fixture."

Sunday brunch is commissioned by Head of Formats, Dominic Bird and is produced by Princess Productions. The Creative Director is Duncan Gray, the Executive Producer is Melony Smith and the Series Producer is Patrick Ruddy, for Princess.
