Tom Tagholm, Network Creative Director

Channel 4 today confirms the appointment of Tom Tagholm as Channel 4's Network Creative Director.  Tagholm has been working in the role in an acting capacity since the departure of Brett Foraker in August of last year.

Reporting to Rufus Radcliffe, Channel 4's Head of Network Marketing, Tagholm will oversee all on and off air advertising for Channel 4's network of channels and services alongside the continued development of on-screen identities.

Rufus Radcliffe, Channel 4's Head of Network Marketing, said: "Tom is a creative at the top of his game. In the past few months he has developed TWIST, our ground-breaking new on air brand campaign and refresh of C4's on-screen graphics whilst also over-seeing a range of high profile programme campaign launches. This is a brilliant appointment for 4Creative which, under Tom's leadership, will go from strength to strength continuing to produce iconic, ground-breaking work."

Tagholm added: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be in this role.  4Creative is an amazing group of very talented people at a channel where risk taking is part of the DNA.  It's an unbelievably exciting time to be working in television and advertising and we're looking forward to a great 2011."

Tagholm joined Channel 4 in 2001 and was part of the team recruited to help set up 4Creative.  In the 10 years since its launch Tom has written and directed numerous spots for Channel 4 winning a range of awards including Creative Circle, Campaign, Promax and Cannes Lions.  Most recently he won a D&AD for his Alan Carr ‘Chatty Man' campaign and was instrumental in the current cross-platform channel branding campaign TWIST, where viewers are able to create their own idents on 4 using an online bank of words spoken by all the major channel talent.

Tagholm has also written and directed a number of award winning shorts including A Bout de Truffe - The Truffle Hunter, which played in festivals worldwide and picked up a host of awards including ‘Best Film' at the prestigious TCM Classic Shorts, ‘Best Short and Film of the Festival' at Raindance and ‘Best Short' at Dances With Films LA.
