The True Stories strand, which commissions and showcases the best international feature documentaries, presents Julie Moggan's Guilty Pleasures.

Selling over seven million romance novels a year the Mills & Boon allure knows no geographical bounds, exporting to 109 countries around the world.  This film examines the allure of the fantasy world created by Mills & Boon.

Guilty Pleasures introduces three Mills & Boon romance novel enthusiasts all of whom want to believe that the fantasy reality of Mills & Boon can transcend to their every day lives.  The film features housewife, Hiroko, who yearns to be swept off her feet by a dashing David Beckham look-alike; Shumita who has grown tired of playing the victim since her husband left her for a younger woman and is out to get him back; and UK based single mum, Shirley, who has finally found true love with her very own Mills & Boon hero.

Also exploring what happens behind the scenes, the film delves deeper still into the world of Mills & Boon by introducing glamorous author Gill Sanderson who is in fact Roger, a pensioner writing from a small caravan in the Lake District.  And sexy cover model Stephen who could get any woman he wants but he won't settle for anything less than his ‘eternal flame', he's just having trouble finding her.

Five heroes, four continents, one dream of true love - real life begins where Mills & Boon ends.
