Two Foreign Press Association Awards for C4 News and Current Affairs

Channel 4 News and Current Affairs scooped two awards at last night’s prestigious Foreign Press Association Awards. 

The winners of the FPA Media Awards 2013 were announced at a dinner last night at the Park Lane Hotel.

TV Documentary/Feature Story of the Year Award went to Giles Duley and Siobhan Sinnerton for ‘Walking Wounded: Return to the Front Line’.  

This exceptional film, produced by Minnow Films for Channel 4, follows Giles Duley's return to Afghanistan as he undertakes his first major photographic assignment since an IED explosion left him a triple amputee. 

‘The agony of Aleppo’s children’ was awarded TV News Story of the Year.   Filmmaker Marcel Mettelsiefen spent several weeks in Aleppo in northwestern Syria, meeting children facing unimaginable horror as they work in a city hospital.  The film was produced by Marcel Mettelsiefen, Teresa Smith and Agnieszka Liggett for Channel 4 News

The FPA was founded in 1888 and is the only association of its kind in the UK. Politically non-aligned, the FPA is one of the oldest clubs for foreign correspondents in the world.

The FPA provides accreditation to more than 1500 journalists every year, representing all media from news agencies to print, broadcast and internet.
