Virtually Famous returns to E4 for a 4th series with brand new line-up

Category: News Release

Topical panel show Virtually Famous returns to E4 for an 8 x 45’ series with a host of new signings on hand to react and reflect on events in the real and cyber world each week.

High-energy comedian Chris Ramsey takes the reins as host with fellow Geordie, Vicky Pattison and Virtually Famous stalwart Seann Walsh as team captains. In a time when world events are increasingly stranger than fiction, this fast turnaround panel show will hear the reaction of the captains and celebrity guests to the weird and wonderful topics that have captured our attention each week.

Also joining the Virtually Famous family as a regular guest is Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt.

New host Chris said: “I'm chuffed to be the new host of Virtually Famous! I've been a guest on the show a number of times and it's honestly one of the best panel shows to do. The whole subject of it is right up my street as I spend most of my life watching videos online. The entire team who put the show together are brilliant and I'm really looking forward to having a larger role in the whole thing.”

New team captain Vicky said; “What a buzz to be working on Virtually Famous. I've always been a fan so it’s exciting to be a new team captain alongside Seann Walsh and working with Chris Ramsey again is a dream - we’ll be sick of the sight of each other!”

Returning team captain Seann said: “The news of Virtually Famous returning really is a double edged sword. On one hand, it's great to be back for a new series and I'm looking forward to being joined by newcomers Chris, Vicky and Scarlett. On the other hand, it means I actually have to do something!”

Following on from its previous success, the Talkback/Hungry Bear Media co-production will once again embark on uncovering the weird and wonderful world of internet sensations.

Each week, the two rival teams will enlist the aid of celebrity guests to battle it out for points as they delve into the always extraordinary world of YouTube memes, Twitter spats and of course…cats.

Commenting on the re-commission, Dom Bird, Channel 4’s Head of Formats, said; “We're delighted Virtually Famous is back, laughing at the best and worst of the internet with a tremendous new line up. With Chris Ramsey as the new host, Vicky Pattison joining Seann Walsh as team captain and Scarlett Moffatt as a regular guest, we couldn't be more excited for the new series of E4's hit panel show.”

Leon Wilson, MD of Talkback and Executive Producer of Virtually Famous said; “I’m delighted that Virtually Famous is returning for a fourth series. This series will be bigger than ever with a stellar new line-up who will bring you the usual mix of celebrity guests and internet insanity!”

Dan Baldwin, MD of Hungry Bear Media and Executive Producer added: “Everyone at Hungry Bear is delighted Virtually Famous is coming back in its new Geordie incarnation. We were going to replace Seann with Jimmy Nail but we couldn’t agree terms. This series will not be short of big laughs and 'talk about' moments from our new line-up. If everyone returns from the jungle safely, and Seann turns up at all, it’s going to be a brilliant watch.”
