Week 32 Highlights

Category: News Release

Welcome to week 32.

32 is the freezing point of water in degrees Fahren... Farenh... Fhare... in °f.

It is the number of piano sonatas written by Ludwig van Beethoven (if you don't include his uncredited work on The Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up).

32 is the number of a full set of adult teeth (including wisdoms) and a full set of chess pieces (both colours).

It was the NFL shirt number of one OJ Simpson, whose profile sank without trace after quitting the game.

32 is also the dialling code for Belgium, should you have a burgeoning desire to talk to a Belgian.

It is also a week of spiffingly wonderful programmes on our own dear C4. Huzzah!

Babes in Hollywood

Every spring, thousands of aspiring child actors - and pushy parents - flock to Hollywood for the casting period for new television shows. Many of these little Angelinas and mini Brads set up camp at the Oakwood, a housing complex that, for a few thousand dollars a month, takes care of all their needs, from 'crying on cue' workshops to access to agents promising the moon. While their children audition for armies of ruthless agents and TV executives, the parents must manage sky-high expectations and thin skins, including their own. Directors Dan Sturman and Dylan Nelson follow a dozen children over three months, as they try to win roles against staggering odds, with casting agents sorting through thousands of candidates for each bit part. True Stories commissions and showcases the best international feature documentaries.
