Submarine

Network premiere of Richard Ayoade's directorial debut; an idiosyncratic coming-of-age drama. At home 15-year-old Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts) has to deal with parents Jill and Lloyd's (Sally Hawkins and Noah Taylor) troubled marriage which comes under further threat with the arrival of her ex, Graham, a narcissistic guru (Paddy Considine, resplendent with mullet). Meanwhile at school, Oliver falls for classmate Jordana Bevan (Yasmin Paige). Based on Joe Dunthorne's novel, the film richly conveys the complexities of growing up without pandering to nostalgia or comic exaggeration.

Paralympic Games 2012 Tonight: Swimming, Athletics, Wheelchair Basketball, and Wheelchair Rugby

Yorkshire's 20-year-old world champion wheelchair sprinter Hannah Cockroft aims for gold in the Women's 200m T34 Final. In the F44 Discus Throw Final, Dan Greaves, who has been on the podium at the last three Paralympics, hopes to wrest back the title he won in Athens from the reigning Paralympic champion, USA's Jeremy Campbell. Stef Reid is a GB gold hope in the Women's 200m T44 Final, as is Libby Clegg in the Women's 200m T12 Final, while Ben Rushgrove is targeting gold in the Men's 200m T36 Final (he won a silver in Beijing, just three weeks after breaking a bone in his foot). Hopes are high, too, for Paul Blake in the Men's 800m T36 Final. Londoner David Weir seeks to retain the Men's 800m T54 title he won in Beijing. And South Africa's Oscar Pistorius, America's Jerome Singleton and GB's Jonnie Peacock should be the favourites in the Men's 100m T44 Final. Pistorius beat Singleton by 0.03 seconds in Beijing, but the US sprinter avenged that defeat at last year's World Championships, while Peacock broke the World Record in June. The wheelchair basketball reaches the semi-finals, and in wheelchair rugby, GB take on France. (Please note: athletes or teams mentioned in later stages of competition will have to qualify from earlier heats)
