The 2022 horror starring Sosie Bacon is written and directed by Parker Finn. Following a traumatic incident a psychiatrist is haunted by a malevolent, gurning presence that drives people to gruesomely kill themselves. Or is she?

 

IN THE EARTH

Ben Wheatley’s horror with Reece Shearsmith. When a key scientist goes missing during a global pandemic, the search for her is foiled by a strange and mystical man living deep in the woods.

 

THE LODGE

Horror twist on the classic fairy-tale paradigm with Riley Keough. A stepmother-to-be desperately tries to get her partner’s kids to like her. But they’ll stop at nothing to get rid of her… This 2019 film is directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala.

 

FREAKY

Body-swap comedy horror with Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton. A girl gets murdered by a serial killer but then wakes up in his body, with only 24 hours to get her own body back. This film is directed by Christopher Landon.

 

Amulet

Romola Garai’s horror starring Imelda Staunton sees an ex-soldier finding refuge with a woman caring for her mum, but begins to wonder whether his arrival was a coincidence…

 

FIRESTARTER

A 2022 American science horror fiction film directed by Keith Thomas and starring Zac Efron. A young girl tries to understand how she mysteriously gained the power to set things on fire with her mind.

 

BULL

 A revenge thriller starring Neil Maskell. This 2021 British crime thriller written and directed by Paul Andrew Williams.

 

X

A slasher horror directed by Ti West. In 1979, a group of young filmmakers set out to make an adult film in a rural Texas farm, but when their reclusive, elderly hosts catch them in the act, the crew find themselves fighting for their lives.

 

ALONE

The menacing horror from 2020 directed by John Hyams. When a woman (Jules Wilcox) is abducted by the driver of a black jeep, she manages to escape his cabin in the woods. But this man (Marc Menchaca) just won’t let it lie and the chase is on.  

 

WEREWOLVES WITHIN

The 2021 comedy horror with Milana Vayntrub. A park ranger is sent to a town where everyone is at each other’s throats, figuratively at first, but then literally. Is a werewolf to blame? It is directed by Josh Ruben from a screenplay by Mishna Wolff.

 

A BANQUET

Tense body-horror directed by Ruth Paxton, written by Justin Bull and starring Sienna Guillory. A teenage girl suddenly stops eating, but stays the same weight… Could she be a monster from Japanese folklore who has a hidden extra mouth?

 

THE THING
