Where the money will go to

Category: News Release

Team Gordon and Team Mary will compete to raise as much money for charity as possible across the week and all the hotel's takings will be split evenly between two charities, The Prince's Trust and Springboard.

The Prince's Trust helps to tackle youth unemployment, supporting the UK's most disadvantaged young people into jobs.

It supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by The Prince's Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law. The Trust's programmes give vulnerable young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, helping develop self-esteem and skills for work. Three in four young people supported by The Prince's Trust move into work, education or training. The Prince of Wales's charity has helped more than 700,000 young people since 1976 and supports 100 more each day.

Thanks to Hotel GB, The Prince's Trust will be able to help unemployed young people across the UK, giving them the practical training and experience they need to find work in hospitality, cooking and customer service. Three in four young people on Prince's Trust schemes move into work, education or training.

Further information about The Prince's Trust is available at www.princes-trust.org.uk or on 0800 842 842.

The Springboard Charity works with young, unemployed and disadvantaged individuals to change their lives by helping them find life-changing jobs within the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry.

With current youth unemployment levels at record highs, and leading to despondency, lack of confidence and, at worst, crime, there is no better time to support this vital work.

With engaged employers willing to offer opportunities, Springboard has the tools to get the young, long term unemployed, ex-offenders and those at risk of homelessness into meaningful employment by engaging the industry with our programmes.

The charity runs a series of programmes that work to get individuals job ready through unique training and mentoring schemes that begin during the preparation for employment and continue once they are in work to help individuals make that all important transition into employment and ensure that the change is a success for the individual, their family and their wider community.
