Windfall Films announces lifestyle commissions for Channel 4
Category: News Release
Windfall Films, part of Argonon Group, announces two lifestyle series for More4 – exploring boundary-pushing forms of home building.
Impossible Builds is a brand new eight part series that explores how a new wave of innovatively engineered ‘kit’ homes is helping ambitious home owners construct dream houses in some of the most remote and challenging locations across the UK.
In each episode, architectural designer Charlie Luxton and commercial designer Aidan Keane meet determined families going against the odds to build bespoke homes on plots ranging from a stormy rugged island to a remote, cliff-top perch overlooking a loch.
The new series uses the latest augmented reality (AR) CGI animations and spectacular drone photography to chart each extreme build and reveal the ingenious engineering at the heart of the revolutionary homes.
Impossible Builds is executive produced by Windfall Films’ Creative Director Carlo Massarella and series produced and directed by Johnny Shipley. Commissioned by Channel 4’s David Sayer for More4.
Mark Evans also returns to More4 to present Windfall Films’ second series of My Floating Home. Mark meets pioneering homebuilders leaving landlocked living behind to realise their dream of living in a waterborne home.
From a trailblazing fibreglass aquatic ‘pod’ built in Southampton to the conversion of a historic ship destined for a mooring in the shadow of London’s Tower Bridge, the series explores the unique design innovations and construction challenges involved in living on water. From building kitchens in barge hulls and creating bedrooms out of anchor stores to installing underwater windows that gaze out onto marine life, each build provides the perfect opportunity for clever interior design - from high-tech to homely.
My Floating Home 2 is 8 x 60’ series, executive produced by Windfall Films’ Creative Director, Carlo Massarella and series produced by Clare Fisher. Commissioned by Channel 4’s David Sayer for More4.
Carlo Massarella, Creative Director, Windfall Films says “These two innovative series offer fascinating and inspiring ways of thinking outside of the box when it comes to designing your own dream home. New technology is making it possible for contemporary home-owners to change their lives offering affordable and creative solutions to building their dream house almost anywhere in the UK.”
David Sayer, Head of Daytime, Channel 4 says “Both of these series will follow the ground breaking developments of designing a home in some of the most challenging locations in the UK. Inventive technology and original concepts will demonstrate to home-owners across the UK the incredible results and challenges faced, in an attempt to build their dream home.”
