Yeaaah boi! Get ready for Made In Chelsea Series 7

Category: News Release

Following the huge success of E4’s BAFTA award winning smash hit Made In Chelsea, Channel 4 has commissioned a brand new standalone series, Made In Chelsea: New York, to air in the summer.

Having seen what the cast get up to on their home turf in SW3, fans can now follow some of their best-loved characters as they take on the New York social scene. Produced by Monkey, part of NBCUniversal International Television Productions, we’ll see London’s most stylish crowd take their fabulous world of champagne and canapés stateside. Viewers can expect drama and laughter as Chelsea’s finest flit around the popular haunts of the city that never sleeps.

The new 6x60 series will air on E4 in August 2014 and is commissioned by Channel 4 Head of Formats Dominic Bird and Commissioning Editor Jilly Pearce, and executive produced by Monkey’s Sarah Dillistone and Ros Coward.

This season will also see the return of the updated Made in Chelsea gaming app which will be available on android and includes brand new features and additional cast members. Set to launch early April, gamers can quaff champers with the gang and explore the SW3 neighbourhood whilst listening to music inspired by the series soundtrack.

With a dedicated fan base, series 6 pulled in a total average of 1.14m / 6.07%, meaning it was up 3% in volume and 5% in share on the previous series (1.11m / 5.79%).  Amongst 16-34’s, the series averaged 631k/15.84% which was up on the slot average by 91% in terms of volume and 90% in terms of share. The final episode of series six was also the highest rating ever – with an audience of 1.35m/6.32%.

Exec Producer, Sarah Dillistone from Monkey Productions said: “We’re very excited about the world of Made In Chelsea travelling America.  New York has a scene buzzing and sophisticated enough to rival Chelsea, so it feels like the next natural step. We’re going to see the cast out of their bubble for the first time since the show began and I’m sure the result will be nothing like we’ve seen before.”
