Young Sheldon

Category: News Release

The US comedy series and spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory comes to E4, giving TV audiences the chance to meet the eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper in childhood as he embarks upon his awkward and hopeful journey towards the man he will become.

For nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) it isn't easy growing up in East Texas. Possessing a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn't always helpful in a land where church and football are kings. And, while the vulnerable, gifted and naive Sheldon deals with the world, his family must find a way to deal with him.

His father, George (Lance Barber), is struggling to navigate a path as a high school football coach and father to a boy he doesn't understand. Sheldon's mother, Mary (Zoe Perry), fiercely protects and nurtures her son in a town where he just doesn't fit in. Sheldon's older brother, Georgie (Montana Jordan), does the best he can in high school, but it's hard to be cool when you're in the same classes as your nine-year-old sibling.

Finally, there's Sheldon's twin sister, Missy (Raegan Revord), who often resents all the attention Sheldon gets, but also remains the one person who can reliably tell him the truth. Narrated by Jim Parsons, who plays the adult Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory.
