Young Sheldon Character Biographies

Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage): For 10 years onThe Big Bang Theory, audiences have come to know the iconic, eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. Young Sheldon gives us the chance to meet him in childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward the man he will become.  Confident in his intelligence to the point of arrogance, the preteen Sheldon Cooper is a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science, but that isn’t always helpful in a land where church and football are king.

Mary Cooper (Zoe Perry): A devout Baptist, Mary is the no-nonsense mother of three.  A strong Texan, she’s fiercely protective of Sheldon.

George Cooper (Lane Barber): As a high school football coach, and former jock whose glory days are behind him, Sheldon’s father doesn’t know what to make of his son.

Meemaw (Annie Potts):  Sheldon’s beloved grandmother (or Meemaw), is a foul-mouthed, hard-drinking Texas grandmother who is fiercely supportive of her grandson and his unique gifts.

George Jr. “Georgie” Cooper (Montana Jordan):Clearly his father’s son, Sheldon’s older brother is a jock in the making, who’s easily embarrassed by his brother, but it’s tough to be cool when you’re in the same classes with your 9-year-old brother. 

Missy Cooper (Raegan Revord): Although Sheldon’s twin sister Missy doesn’t share his genius IQ, she maintains a soft spot for her quirky brother.  And while she sometimes resents all the attention Sheldon gets, she remains the one person who can reliably tell Sheldon the truth.
