Youngers - series 2

Series 2 follows the progress of best friends Jay and Yemi, female vocalist Davina and their manager, Ashley, as they edge closer to the big time with their own brand of urban music. But there’s a lot of growing up to do if they’re going to put their big fallout behind them and up their musical game. Which seems uncertain since Yemi is now leader of his youth church choir, Davina is falling for the ghetto bad-boy in their rival band, and Jay realizes he can’t quite shake his feelings for Davina. Youngers returns with the energy and wicked humour that audiences have grown to love and follows the lives of urban teenagers with a dream of taking life to the next level.

Episode 1 - … Divided ain’t cool

In the months since the Youngers’ fallout at the Avengerz Crew concert Jay has discovered an impressive new dedication to his music and is now recording new tracks with producer friend Leon. Meanwhile, Yemi has become the leader of his church’s youth choir - much to his mum's sheer delight and Davina is building the courage to stand on her own two feet and attends an open audition. But when her audition is hijacked by a hotshot rap act, the Bad Breeds, she walks out vowing to make it alone.

Following a fight at Bang’s party that night, Yemi lets Jay borrow a t-shirt at this place. They then see that Davina has posted a new solo track on her twitter feed and decide that maybe, they should go back to being a duo.

Episode 2 - Boss Lady Business

 Desperate to afford time in the recording studio to lay down new material, Davina takes a job at the local gym working underneath crazy Jodie. Jay and Yemi pay Ashley a visit to apologise for their past foolishness and want to give things another go. Ashley makes it clear he’s moved on and believes the Bad Breeds have something special. He contacts DQ to gauge his interest but he’s still only interested in what the 3-piece Youngers have to offer.

Following an incident with Marlon, Ashley decides to track down Jay and Yemi to let them know that if they can lure Davina back they have a shot at getting signed. Davina, after being driven mad by Jodie quits her job, finds the boys and, for better or worse, decides to take the risk.

Episode 3 - This is where the magic happens

Ashley promises DQ that he’ll send over new Youngers material by the end of that day, forcing Jay, Yemi and Davina back to Yemi’s bedroom to rediscover the old spark. Yemi, however, still feels awkward, whilst Jay consigns Davina to only providing “girl hooks” on his and Yemi’s existing track.

When they find Ashley they realise the Bad Breeds are having no trouble coming up with new tracks and use their lack of workspace as an excuse. Against pregnant Louise’s wishes, Ashley hires warehouse space from his old friend and ex-criminal, Benny. Whilst working in the warehouse, Davina comes up with an idea for a great synth line and they have a breakthrough. When Benny arrives he insists that Ashley and his groups should use the space on a more permanent arrangement.
