EIF Extra

A new opportunity for previous EIF indies to access additional support.

EIF Extra is an opportunity for previous Emerging Indie Fund companies to accelerate their business. Selected companies will receive slate development funding and increased access to commissioners and other departments within Channel 4, whilst growing their business.

WHO IS IT FOR?

EIF Extra is for previous EIF companies – main and discretionary - that need an extra boost of support to accelerate their company.

To be eligible for EIF Extra applicants must meet all of the criteria below:

Previous EIF participant, from any cohort, including discretionary awardees.
Primary office and more than 50% of key creative decision-makers based in the Nations and Regions.
A true indie in which no one broadcaster holds more than 25% of its shareholding.
Turnover must be below £6m according to the latest set of accounts.
Has a slate of content in development that Channel 4 considers is suitable for Channel 4.
Evidence of a previous TV, film or digital production credit.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications should be made through the online application form.

The deadline for applications is 9am on 6th November 2024.

SELECTION

Eligible applications will be assessed by the EIF team as well as Heads of Department and Commissioning Editors.

All eligible applications received will be assessed according to the following selection criteria with priority given to indies that:

Used their EIF opportunity to establish strong relationships within Channel 4.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of C4 commissioning priorities and our new Fast Forward strategy.
Has a clear vision for using the top-up funding effectively to progress development within their company.

Channel 4 will exercise its sole and absolute discretion in determining whether an applicant has met the eligibility criteria. The decision of Channel 4 will be final.
