19 RTS Award nominations for Channel 4

Channel 4 has received an impressive 19 RTS Award nominations, including a clean sweep in the Documentary Series category, in which no other channel got a look in.

Every nomination in Best Documentary Series category went to Channel 4, with Educating Essex, 24 Hours in A&E and Fighting on The Frontline all receiving nominations.

Other categories in which Channel 4 dominates proceedings include Best Entertainment programme, in which Million Pound Drop and Derren Brown - The Experiments are both nominated; Best Scripted Comedy, in which Fresh Meat and Phoneshop are in contention; Best Drama Serial for Top Boy and The Promise; and Best Comedy Writer, for Sam Bain & Jesse Armstrong (Fresh Meat) and Robert Popper (Friday Night Dinner) respectively.

There are two nominations for Hugh's Big Fish Fight (for Best Presenter and Best Popular Factual and Features) and Fresh Meat (Best Scripted Comedy and Best Writer - Comedy).
