Alan Carr launches singing game show app The Singer Takes It All

The innovative multiplatform app for Channel 4’s singing game show The Singer Takes It All has now officially launched on iOS and will be coming very soon to Android. For the first time ever, viewers will take total control of a game show, becoming both judge and jury via the real-time interactive app.

Presented by Alan Carr, The Singer Takes It All is a revolutionary new series, launching this August on Channel 4, where all the action is placed literally in the audience’s hands.

The free app is available to download now from the App Store and will be coming to Google Play very soon. The app and will feature hundreds of performances from people all around the UK, belting out their favourite tunes.

From the moment the app launches, each hopeful can be voted either a ‘hit’ or ‘miss’, with the most popular contestants making it to the live Channel 4 show to perform on the track - a unique 18 metre conveyor belt.

Alan Carr says: ““I’ve never been involved in anything ground-breaking before! This app makes people at home the judge and jury, and I love that aspect of it. The viewers get to decide whether the singer wins or disappears backwards through the flaps to a life of misery. If you don’t get the app, you don’t have any influence on what happens on the show. Of course, you could try shouting at the telly instead, but it won’t make a blind bit of difference.”

During the live show, armchair judges at home using the app will once again be handed the reins to rate performances a ‘hit’ or a ‘miss’ and see the results play out just seconds later.

If judged a ‘hit’ the hopeful singer will move forward towards the Gold Zone at the front of the dynamic stage to continue their song. But if the majority of viewers judge them a ‘miss’ they're booted backwards off the track – and out of the iconic double doors.

The most well-liked singer on each show takes to the track one more time for the chance to walk away with a cash prize. Can the singers stay on track? It’s out of the producer’s hands as viewers judge for themselves on the app.

The free app was created by Endemol UK and is being built by Chunk, incorporating new live-voting technology developed by Tectonic Interactive.

The Singer Take it All was commissioned jointly by Channel 4’s Head of Entertainment Justin Gorman and Multiplatform Commissioning Editor for Entertainment and Comedy, Jody Smith.

The series a co-production by Endemol UK’s production arms Initial and Remarkable Television, with the creative teams from the two companies co-developing the format. The Executive Producer is Nic McNeilis and Digital Executive Producer is Karen Troop.
