Channel 4 Shorts: October Highlights 2015

Shorts are Channel 4's original short form videos available on All 4, for when you only have time for a five minute fix.

Highlights this month include new guests getting cosy in Jamie Laing’s bed; four fearless strangers are given a camper van with a mission to drive all the way down under; and we speak to Nick Pickard as he divulges his stand out moments as Tony throughout his time in Hollyoaks to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.

The Male Body Handbook (19th October)

Northern Irish photographer Tony Webster puts aside the fashion and glam photography that he’s known for to enter into the world of new progressive art form, Homotography. He captures the untapped wonder of the male, unclothed body, and his provocative photography mainly attracts homosexual models eager to flaunt their sexual identity. The series explores men’s attitudes to their own and other men’s bodies.

Phil Spencer's Home Hacks (29th October)

This ad-funded (British Gas) six part series sees property guru Phil Spencer (Location Location Location; Kirstie and Phil's Love It or List It) offer his expertise to homeowners facing the modern-day and classic dilemma of moving home as a family for the first time.  He advises on creating multi-purpose gardens, furniture make overs and stylish work-from-home spaces. It's all about making your home your haven, and British Gas' role in keeping 'millions of homes across the country warm and working'. The series is part of a three year partnership with with energy and home services company.

My Pop-Up Restaurant (In partnership with Samsung Home Appliances) (2nd November)

This six part series, presented by Radio 1 DJ Alice Levine, and TV presenter Laura Jackson, follow six aspirational home cooks from across the UK, who dream of becoming professionals as they open up their very own supper clubs.

The passionate amateur cooks will be creating a menu and charging guests to attend their supper club, putting their culinary skills to the ultimate test. The ambitious chefs include Matt Adlard AKA “Topless Baker” who, inspired by his father’s Michelin star success, is looking to launch his own culinary career; and Arshad Damree, who is keen to promote his native Mauritian cuisine and health and food blogger Pamela Bustard.

Each cook will be provided with a distinctive space in which to create and serve their signature menu, whilst seasoned supper club cooks Alice and Laura will be at the side of each participant every step of the way, helping them to deliver the ultimate supper club in the hope of kick starting their culinary career.
