Remarkable Television, an Endemol company, today announced that Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of The Bank Job launching this February.
Hosted by George Lamb, the high jeopardy game show will launch its second series this February. Set in a bank vault filled with real money, contestants will have the chance to pull off the ultimate heist and walk away with a life changing fortune.
The only way to apply to play for real money, live on Channel 4, is by qualifying through the online game at www.channel4.com/bankjob. Over 200, 000 people have now taken part in The Bank Job online, playing the head-to-head game over 4.6 million times. And in series two it gets even tougher as players will have to win three tournament games to unlock the application form for the TV show.
Having battled it out online and secured a place on the show, four rival players take each other on in a competitive game of knowledge, judgement and luck in the bank vault. Who will get rich - and get out?
David Flynn, Managing Director of Remarkable Television says; "The online game is simple and hugely addictive. But nothing can compare to the intense pressure of playing the game for real money, live on Channel 4. In The Bank Job, everything can change right up to the very last second in the vault.'
Justin Gorman, Head of Entertainment at Channel 4 adds; "The Bank Job is a brand new kind of game show and we're very excited to be bringing it back for a second run, once again combining online and TV for a truly gripping programme."
The Executive Producers for The Bank Job are David Flynn and Tom Blakeson at Remarkable Television. The Series Producer is James Fox. The Bank Job was commissioned for Channel 4 by Commissioning Editor Madeleine Knight and Justin Gorman with the online game commissioned by Jody Smith.
