C4 commissions observational documentary The Massage Parlour (w/t)
Category: News ReleaseThe commission of The Massage Parlour (w/t) was today announced at Channel 4’s Upfront 2015 event for the advertising industry. The 1x60’ observational documentary produced by Transparent TV, will follow the ups and downs of a unique family business in the North of England.
Run by a mother and daughter team, it’s in many ways a typical warm and friendly family run enterprise - except for the personal services it offers. The establishment is one of the UK’s only female-owned massage parlours.
The Massage Parlour (wt) will explore the everyday life of the staff and the regular customers frequenting the establishment, challenging preconceptions and revealing the workings of a rarely seen world.
Commissioned by Ian Dunkley, Channel 4 commissioning editor for Factual Entertainment, The Massage Parlour (wt) will be produced by Transparent TV with executive producer Jazz Gowans.
