Carpetright to sponsor Quality Entertainment on UKTV

Category: News Release

4Sales have today announced a new sponsorship deal with Carpetright that will see them sponsor programming across UKTV’s network of channels. The 12 month partnership launches on the 1st August.

Carpetright’s idents will be visible around home and garden content on the Really and Home channels for the ‘Real Transformations’ strand as well as a cross section of genres for ‘Quality Entertainment’ on Gold, W and Alibi.

The sixteen 10“idents star much-loved TV property expert, broadcast presenter and newly-appointed Carpetright Brand Ambassador, Lucy Alexander. Each ident sees Lucy putting her home decorating skills to good use, choosing the best carpet, flooring or bed options for the room. They have been designed for Carpetright by creative agency Everything Different.

Carpetright’s partnership with UKTV will see their idents appear online around home programming on their catch-up service UKTV Play, the first time a brand has sponsored content on the platform.

The partnership also includes a programme licence, allowing Carpetright to use Home Channel branding on their website, in stores and on social media.

Rupinder Downie, Partnerships Controller at Channel 4 said: “Carpetright and UKTV are the perfect partners and we are delighted to have secured this sponsorship deal which will see them showcase their products and services across TV, in-store and for the first time, online promotions on UKTV Play.”

Helen Vinken, UK Marketing Director at Carpetright said: “We’re really excited to be working with UKTV and our new Brand Ambassador Lucy Alexander on this sponsorship campaign. It is part of a broader strategy which has included a new brand identity and a focus on communicating our fantastic product range and expert service. This sponsorship will run alongside our national TV advertising, press, radio, digital and a ‘Lucy Loves’ campaign which communicates her top product picks via POS in store.”

Danny Donovan, Joint Managing Director, MediaCom said: “The exciting launch of the ‘Quality Entertainment /Real Transformations’ partnership with UKTV signals the first truly cross-channel deal Carpetright have entered into to date. Launching in August, this forms a major part of the roll-out of their new brand identity”

The partnership was brokered by Andy Moore, Group Partnerships Manager, Channel 4 and Tim Williams and Oliver Scargill at MediaCom.
