Channel 4 announces new police investigation series Manhunt

Category: News Release

The Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit will be the focus of a new Channel 4 series to be broadcast in 2017.

The new 4 x 90 series, made for Channel 4 by the award-winning True Vision (My Son the Jihadi, Forced Marriage Cops) will reveal extraordinary access to the Major Crime Unit of Thames Valley Police, the largest non-metropolitan force in the UK which deals with a population of over 2 million people.

Each episode will focus on the hunt for one criminal, as we follow the multi-disciplinary team and their investigative and forensic work, examining every detail of the chase from crime to conviction.

The varied work of this multi-disciplinary force will be filmed over two years as they deal with everything from murder and kidnap to armed robbery, child exploitation, people trafficking and drug crime.

The series, commissioned for Channel 4 by Deputy Head of Documentaries Amy Flanagan, will be directed by multi-BAFTA winner Jezza Neumann (China's Stolen Children, Zimbabwe's Forgotten Children). The Executive Producer is Brian Woods.
