Channel 4 announces the return of World of Weird for new series

Category: News Release

Channel 4 have announced the return of World of Weird for a new six part series to start this autumn. The series follows a one off doc which aired last year when 1.1 million viewers tuned it to explore the very best of the weird and wonderful.

The new 10pm series promises to bring us even more bizarre and special characters such as Pricasso - the world's only artist that paints with his penis, members of America's vampire community, the man willing to turn himself into a parrot and the Japanese businesses that use 'crying agencies' to help their employees express more emotion.

Executive Producer, Simon Welton says:
"The return of World of Weird brings together the very best of the peculiar. It has been a delight to work on this six part series for Channel 4 and to work with such a great group of on and off-screen talent".

The talent led show will be brought to us by a whole host of presenters such as Vicky Pattison, Joel Dommett, Ayo Akinwolere and C4’s Undateables star Brent Zillwood – all keen to explore the most remarkable phenomena modern day life has to offer. The six episodes will also be narrated by Sarah Millican.

Commissioning Editor, Anna Miralis adds:
"It's an enticing trip into a mysterious world of the outlandish, extraordinary and sometimes completely unbelievable.  I'm sure it will shock, enthral and entertain".
