Channel 4 commissions Field Day Productions series inside U.S. Embassy

Field Day Productions are to produce a three-part observational documentary series inside the U.S. Embassy in London for Channel 4, Current Affairs.


Filmed over a six month period, the series will give insight into one of the world’s most important Embassies. The U.S. mission represents the Office of the President of the United States as well as protects as the welfare of its citizens abroad, its business interests and culture, and manages visa applications of would-be visitors to the United States.


With a new Ambassador in place, major relocation to a new Embassy site and an effort to strengthen and expand the ‘special relationship’ in the time of Brexit, Field Day Productions goes behind the scenes to show how a modern U.S. Embassy works at a pivotal moment in history.


Dorothy Byrne, Channel 4 Head of News and Current Affairs, who commissioned the series, said ‘‘This is an important landmark observational documentary series which will give viewers a chance to experience a slice of daily life behind the scenes of this influential Embassy.”


Field Day Executive Producer Sally Angel said: “We are delighted to be working on our first commission for Channel 4 on a series that will open up the workings of a previously closed piece of America that sits inside the UK."


Field Day Productions is a new Independent Production Company run by Sally Angel and Debbie Manners.
