Channel 4 commissions Obsessive Compulsive Hoarder follow-up

Category: News Release

Obsessive Compulsive Hoarder is set to return to Channel 4 later this year.

A follow-up film (1 x 60) has been ordered by Commissioning Editor Mark Raphael for Channel 4 and will return to the extraordinary home of Richard Wallace whose hoarding habits have spread across millions of pounds-worth of property.  Filming will take place over a six-month period and will follow Wallace and his community as they continue to tackle his overflowing home and examine how his life has changed.

RDF TV's original film which aired last year as part of the Cutting Edge strand was the highest rating one-off documentary of 2011 for the Channel. Over 4 million viewers (15%, consolidated) were moved by the footage of Wallace crawling over mountains of papers and magazines simply to move from room to room.

Obsessive Compulsive Hoarder: Follow up (WT) will again be directed by filmmaker Christian Trumble for RDF and exec produced by Tayte Simpson. RDF Television is a Zodiak Media Company.

Mark Raphael said: "Richard's story really connected with our audience and there was a desire to find out what happened next. Happily we're able to follow the next chapter in this remarkable story."

Tayte Simpson, Executive Producer RDF Television said: "Richard has only just begun the process of dealing with his extraordinary situation.  As he attempts to tackle the inside of his home, his relationship with the village is evolving and becoming more complicated."
