Channel 4 Daytime commissions Barnfinders (w/t)

Category: News Release

Across the UK, millions of pounds worth of collectibles, classic cars, dusty old paintings and worn out furniture lie unloved and forgotten, buried in dark and dusty sheds.
In Barnfinders (working title), presenters Henry Cole and Simon O’Brien will be meeting property owners across Britain who are throwing open their sheds and barns to explore the items lost inside. From rusty motorbikes to tarnished teapots, ancient tractors to antique furniture, Britain’s barns and sheds are a neglected treasure trove full of valuable and unique items just waiting to be discovered.
Henry and Simon will dig out the very best finds from each shed. Picking four items they think are really worth restoration, we will learn the history of the objects before they are taken to be upcycled and restored to their former glory, ready to be sold on behalf of their owners.
Speaking on the commission, Channel 4’s David Sayer said:  ‘We British love our sheds, but often we ignore the treasure chest of items we have stored in there. This is a really interesting new format for Channel 4 Daytime and I am excited to see what items will be uncovered from our nation’s sheds and how they’ll be restored by Henry and Simon’
