Channel 4 Features commissions My Beauty Secret (w/t)

Category: News Release

My Beauty Secret (w/t) – presented by Katie Piper – will shine a light on the nation’s attitude towards people with visible facial conditions and explore their different experiences living with them. Whether it’s a Port Wine Stain or Rosacea; Vitiligo or Alopecia; scars or something else entirely, for some living with these conditions has an adverse effect on their lives and to them Katie will offer help and advice with the aim of boosting their confidence and self-esteem.

In the 1x60 programme, made by Remarkable Television (part  of the Endemol Shine Group) Katie will meet contributors who suffer from the same facial condition. However, the way in which they deal with the condition will differ greatly – one choosing to cover up with make-up and the other doing nothing. When they meet at Make-up HQ, one will be stripped bare of their make-up they use to share their story of self-empowerment to help people in a similar position.

Kitty Walshe, Managing Director for Remarkable Television says, “ There is no universal definition of the word beauty. And as a nation, many of us are still clueless when it comes to make-up. My Beauty Secret is an inspirational new show which, using the power of make-up not only helps people with facial conditions but also offers tips and tricks to those who feel they need a helping hand in the beauty stakes. “

My Beauty Secret (w/t) was commissioned by Channel4 Features editor Helen Cooke and will be produced by Remarkable Television, part  of the Endemol Shine Group with executive producers Kitty Walshe and Clare Hollywood.
