Channel 4 Network Creative Director Tom Tagholm leaves C4

Category: News Release

After 11 years of producing extraordinary creative work for the channel, Network Creative Director Tom Tagholm has announced he is leaving his post as head of 4creative, in which he was responsible for overseeing all on and off air advertising for C4's network of channels and services, including idents, and on-screen identities.

Tom was part of the original team recruited to help set up 4creative in 2001, rising to head up the agency in 2011 as its, and the Channel's, Network Creative Director.

During his time as head of Channel 4's highly regarded creative agency, Tom has produced iconic creative work ranging from the D&AD award-winning Alan Carr ‘Chatty Man' campaign, a specially commissioned ident featuring Usain Bolt, as well as countless bold, inventive and arresting print, outdoor and on-air campaigns including for Seven Dwarves, This Is England '86, The Big Food Fight, and Shameless, all of which were award-winners.

Director of Marketing and Communications Dan Brooke said: "Tom is a creative titan and has been behind some of Channel 4's best advertising and branding for more than a decade. We are gutted to see him go, but understand that sometimes a man's got to do what a man's got to do.  We wish him all the success in the world as he follows his film-making passions and hope we'll be able to work closely with him in the future."

Tom is leaving his position as Network Creative Director to concentrate on developing films and commercial projects. He is represented by Blink for commercials, and Independent Talent for film.

He has written and directed a number of award winning shorts in his career, including the BIFA nominated A Bout de Truffe - The Truffle Hunter, which played in festivals worldwide and picked up a host of awards including ‘Best Film' at the prestigious TCM Classic Shorts and ‘Best Short and Film of the Festival' at Raindance. He is in the process of finishing a new short film with Film4, to follow A Bout de Truffe.

Tom Tagholm said: "4Creative is a magic place and I'm incredibly proud of the work we have done together. There is nowhere else like it in town and I will miss it like hell. But I have some other projects and now is the right time to give them some love and attention."
