Channel 4 orders more Million Pound Properties

Category: News Release

Channel 4 has commissioned RDF Television to make a 3x60 series of Million Pound Properties. The original hour-long documentary of the same name explored the rising phenomenon of properties in the UK valued at million pounds or more, and gave a unique and highly visual perspective on the colossal disparity in Britain’s housing market. The new series has been commissioned for Channel 4 by Emma Cooper and will be executive produced by Daniel Fromm for RDF Television. With house prices set to once again soar this year, the series will again examine what a million pounds or more can buy across the country; from sprawling mansions and castles, to central London shoeboxes, to ex-local authority properties bought under right to buy. It will also explore the challenges that can come with attempting to buy or sell a home for a million pounds plus.

Daniel Fromm, Exec Producer, RDF Television said:

“Following the Conservatives’ election victory and the removal of the mansion tax threat, it’s a particularly fascinating time to return to the property market and examine what estate agents are already calling a new million pound housing boom, whilst also discovering what motivates some of Britain’s wealthiest homebuyers.”

Emma Cooper, Commissioning Editor for Documentaries, Channel 4 said:

“The million pound property market is a great space for modern stories. It was exciting working with RDF on a brilliantly simple and highly popular single film which feels ripe to be taken further into series.”

RDF Television is a Zodiak Media company.
