Channel 4 Racing wins prestigious Broadcast Award

Channel 4’s coverage of the 2014 Crabbie’s Grand National scooped the Broadcast Award for Best Sports Programme beating an array of mainstream programmes that included The Open, FA Cup semi-final, Match of the Day Live: Brazil v Germany and others.

Channel 4’s coverage of the three-day Crabbie’s Grand National Festival was produced by IMG and directed by Denise Large and attracted 8.5 million viewers.

Ed Havard Channel 4’s Head of Live Events and Sport, says: “This win is recognition of the extraordinary work of IMG, both the production operation and the brilliant on screen talent. The Grand National is one of the greatest events in our schedule and this award recognises all the work that has gone into showcasing the incredible spectacle at Aintree for our audiences."
