Channel 4 reaches Cabin Fever

Category: News Release

Channel 4 today announces Cabin Fever (w/t), a 4x60 series produced by Plum Pictures that sees nine cabins transformed into extraordinarily beautiful and bespoke accommodation for the public to enjoy.

The programme follows eight teams from across the UK who have been part of a tender competition to design unique Legendary Glamping units. The tender, which is part funded by Visit Wales to support the Year of Legends 2017 campaign invited architects and designers to create unique mobile cabins themed on the mythology, tradition and beauty of Wales. This series charts the build of these winning designs – each on an £11,000 budget.

Alongside the eight winners, is a ninth cabin designed by presenters, Dick Strawbridge and Will Hardie who will be designing and implementing their own creation based on the same competition spec. At key stages of the builds, Will and Dick will visit each of the other eight cabins as well as existing inspirational structures across the UK.

Two of the huts will be revealed in each episode; one of which is chosen as the winner to go through to the final. In the last episode, one of the four finalists will be named winner of Cabin Fever 2017. There is no cash prize, just the prestige of winning the title. The nine structures will form Wales’s first luxury pop-up glamping hotel.

The programme was commissioned by Gill Wilson, Head of Features, Channel 4. The Exec producer is Will Daws at Plum Pictures
