Channel 4 Sales Director Jonathan Allan has promoted six members of his sales team to the newly created roles of Agency Principal

In October 2011, plans were unveiled to restructure the Channel 4 Sales force, creating six fully integrated agency/client-focused teams, with a view to offering advertisers and agencies more integrated solutions, and further consolidating Channel 4's position as the essential marketing partner for those targeting young and upmarket audiences.

David Amodio, Chris Braithwaite, Pete Clark, Angus Mitchell, Danny Peace and John Ahern have been promoted to lead the six agency teams, each comprised of specialists from trading, sponsorship, AFP, product placement, creative solutions and digital.

As Agency Principals they will have line management responsibility for teams of 10-16, and full budgetary responsibility for the agency account and the clients within it.

The Agency Principals will report to the two Heads of Agency Sales, who will manage three agency teams each. Channel 4 confirmed Damon Lafford as the first appointed Head of Agency Sales in early January this year.

Expert guidance and leadership for specialists within the agency teams will be provided by three Leader positions - a Trading Leader, a Partnership Leader, and a Digital Leader - who will report to the Head of Trading, and the Head of Digital and Partnership Innovation respectively.

The roles of each of the Leaders will be to maximise C4 Sales traded revenues by providing professional leadership for the trading, partnership and digital experts that sit within integrated agency teams.

Controller of Sponsorship Rob Ramsay has been appointed to the role of Partnership Leader, and Deputy Head of Trading Steve Alexander has been appointed Trading Leader. Channel 4 has recruited Head of Digital Strategy at MEC, Carl Read, to the role of Digital Leader.

Michele Russell takes on the role of Sales Development Leader, looking after the development of sales expertise and processes across the entire team, as well as working on developing business from smaller agencies and clients.

Jonathan Allan said:

"The Agency Principals were chosen as a result of a rigorous selection process and we are confident that now appointed, they will start to make a real difference to the way we engage with agencies and clients at every level and across all disciplines."
