Channel 4 today announces the recommission of competitive cooking series, My Kitchen Rules UK produced by 7 Wonder.

My Kitchen Rules UK launched as a 30-part series last summer on Channel 4. Following its success, the recommission will see 7 Wonder extend the series by a further 10 hour-long shows.

Two-time Michelin Star chef Michael Caines MBE and culinary legend and food writer Prue Leith CBE will again join forces to judge even more entrepreneurial amateur cooks, who will open their own restaurants at home in a bid to scoop a cash prize and the right to say, “My Kitchen Rules.”

The 40x60’ series is based on the knock out success of Australia's My Kitchen Rules, which holds the top spot as the country’s number one show on Seven Network.

Casting is currently underway for contestants from across the country to take part in the series, which will air this summer.

Syeda Irtizaali, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment at Channel 4 says: “My Kitchen Rules UK is a great format for amateur cooks. I’m amazed at the breadth of creativity contestants across Britain show when creating a unique dining experience for each other, and for cooking legends Michael and Prue. We’re thrilled to be serving up a second helping later this year.”

Debb Swindells, Series Producer at 7 Wonder adds: “We’re delighted to be bringing back more My Kitchen Rules UK. We received a great response from series one. So now we’re now on the hunt for more passionate home cooks, and we can’t wait to shine a light on some of the best food talent the country has to offer.”

The new series was commissioned for Channel 4 Daytime by Syeda Irtizaali, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment. Debb Swindells is the Series Producer for 7 Wonder.
