Channel 4 signs magician Troy
Category: News ReleaseChannel 4 has signed magician Troy for a brand new series that will enthral and amaze.
The currently untitled 6 x 60 series, co-produced by Zig Zag Productions and GroupM Entertainment, will showcase the young magician's skills by performing incredible stunts in front of the eyes of the unsuspecting public. The series will combine elements of street magic and close up studio illusions, with each episode culminating in one spectacular stunt.
Using hidden cameras to capture the genuine reaction of people he encounters in his everyday life Troy will get under their skin without them even knowing they are taking part in a magic performance.
24 year old Troy Von Scheibner is of German and Jamaican heritage and grew up in South London. At the age of 13 he decided to join The Young Magicians Club, where later he was awarded "young close-up magician of the year" aged only 15.
Troy was commissioned by Channel 4 Head of Factual Entertainment, Liam Humphreys and Commissioning Editor, Tina Flintoff. It will be co-produced by Zig Zag Productions and GroupM Entertainment. Executive Producers are Clare Hollywood and Danny Fenton for Zig Zag Productions and Tony Moulsdale and Abigail Adams for GroupM Entertainment. It will air in 2014.
