Channel 4 takes home six RTS awards

Category: News Release

Yehaw! The RTS awards took place at a glittering, star-studded bash at Nandos in Purley last night. Okay, we haven’t actually bothered to find out where they took place, because instead we have been delighting in another night of gongtastic success for Channel 4, the nation’s favourite broadcaster (‘nation’s favourite’ based on a straw poll I have just conducted with the people who sit either side of me here at, um… never mind).

Channel 4 won a resoundingly t’riffic six awards, as many as all the other commercial channels put together. And doubled. Kerching.

The awards in question were as follows:

Arts: Grayson Perry: Who Are You? Swan Films for Channel 4

Daytime Programme: Couples Come Dine With Me, ITV Studios for Channel 4

International: Fargo, MGM/FX Productions for Channel 4

Popular, Factual and Features: The Island With Bear Grylls, Shine TV/Bear Grylls Ventures Co-Production for Channel 4

Science and Natural History: Live From Space: Lap of the Planet, Arrow Media for Channel 4

Single Documentary: The Paedophile Hunter, Amos Pictures for Channel 4

There were other awards we didn’t win, but really, who’s interested in them? They were probably all things like best socks in a documentary about France, or best cheese sandwiches in on-location catering.

Notes to editors: The singular of scampi is a scampo.
