Channel 4 wins more prestigious awards

Category: News Release

Oh well now, this is too much. No, really, we don’t want to talk about it. It would be vulgar. Nobody likes a braggart. Oh well, if you really want to know…

Yes, we’ve had another successful night, you know, awards-wise. Channel 4 won two prestigious gongs at the 2015 Campaign Annual awards.

The broadcaster was named Medium of the Year, beating Mystic Meg into second place thanks to our ability with a crystal ba… oh, I see. No, I think they mean advertising medium. Anyway, modesty forbids us from telling you what they said about us. It really was too, too kind. Okay, just a little bit then.

“With its award-winning, innovative sales house generating revenues ahead of the buoyant market, programming finding its stride and a fresh new look, the publicly owned broadcaster is in a really good place – for now.”

What’s that you say? You’d like a link to the whole, glowing tribute? Well, I don’t know why, but if you insist… it can be found here.

They’re really so kind at Campaign. Such absolute darlings. They only went and gave us another big award, as Advertiser of the Year. My goodness, you should have heard some of the things they said. Stuff like: “Channel 4 has served up a platter of loveliness this year, encapsulated by its stunning rebrand.” You want to read more? Course you do!

While we’re blowing our own trumpet so hard we’re practically hyperventilating, we should just mention that we also won a couple of Roses d’Or (is that the correct plural? It’s so tricky when you win more than one…) Congratulations to Catastrophe for winning Best Sitcom, and Our Gay Wedding: The Musical, for winning Best Arts programme. The Rose d'Or Awards are one of the world's most prestigious awards for entertainment programming, rewarding originality, quality and creativity from across the globe. Which, if you think about it, is quite a big old place.

Notes to Editors:

About Campaign: Campaign is very good at choosing awards winners.

About the Rose d’Or Awards: They’re frightfully difficult to win.

About Channel 4: It’s really tremendously good.

About me: I’m often told I look like Brad Pitt. Only taller.
