Channel 4's Fabulous Baker Brothers return with new series

Category: News Release

Channel 4 has commissioned brand new series The Fabulous Baker Brothers: Cooking for Britain (w/t), which will see Henry and Tom Herbert give traditional British food establishments such as cafes, teashops and bakeries a food makeover - taking the likes of the lardy cake, sausage roll or chocolate éclair into the modern food age.

The series, made by betty, will follow the Baker Brothers as they visit tourist spots across Britain and find establishments peddling tired traditional fayre and struggling in the tough economic climate, to help them overhaul their offerings.

Tom and Henry will take over the kitchens and close the doors to the public to create modern take on traditional classics. At the end of each episode the owners and the public will be invited back in to sample the new signatures dishes which will reflect the produce and specialities of the region.

The 6x60 series has been commissioned by Channel 4 Deputy Commissioning Editor, Katie Horswell, and will be executive produced by Neil Smith at Betty. It will air on Channel 4 later this year.

Katie Horswell said: "It's fantastic that the Baker Brothers are back for a new series.  I'm really looking forward to seeing them work together to rescue some of Britain's little gems with their fabulous cooking."
