Crafty Kirstie Allsopp takes on the country in new series

Category: News Release

Kirstie's so handy, she's even crafted her own personal pilot.

Following the success of Kirstie's Homemade Home , which helped  reignite viewers' passion for all things homemade, Channel 4 has commissioned Raise the Roof Productions to produce this new format fronted by Kirstie, where she'll be learning new crafting skills  and taking on Britain's best crafters at County Fairs across the UK.

Commissioned by Andrew Jackson, Deputy Head of Features and Kate Teckman Commissioning Editor, each episode will see Kirstie attempt to master a new craft with the help of skilled experts and guidance of budding amateurs before entering her creation in a local County Fair competition to see if she can match the best in their field.

The series will be made by executive producer Sarah Walmsley (Kirstie's Homemade Home, Vacation Vacation Vacation) and series producer Lisa McCann (Kirstie and Phil's Perfect Christmas).

Deputy Head of Features, Andrew Jackson, said: ‘After years of meeting and learning from the nation's crafting heroes it'll be fascinating to see if Kirstie can beat them at their own game, and along the way we get a chance to be inspired by some of Britain's best craft and country shows.'

The series will air later this year.
