E4 is set to follow the lives of the students and teachers at the prestigious D&B Academy of Performing Arts in Kent as Stage School takes viewers behind the scenes on an all singing, all dancing rollercoaster journey of auditions, love affairs and jazz hands this Autumn.

From the makers of cult hit Pineapple Dance Studios, the 30 x 30’ structured reality series will feature the ups and downs of those trying to make it in the world of showbusiness - the bitching, the backstabbing and the romances, along with the break-out singing and dance routines all performed by the talented pupils.

There will be no shortage of high drama and big egos in Stage School as we follow our pupils as they attend West End auditions and put on showcases to try and make their dreams of fame and fortune a reality. The series will see emotions reach boiling point as the students fight over career making opportunities, while trying to stay friends and maintain all important relationships with the people they are in fierce competition with.

Run by the passionate but no nonsense Sullivan sisters, Donna and Bonnie, the D&B Academy of Performing Arts was established in 2000 and covers every aspect of training needed to develop well balanced, versatile triple-threat performers.

Executive Producer and Managing Director of Knickerbockerglory Jonathan Stadlen said,

“Young people don’t want to be doctors or lawyers anymore, they want to be superstars - and there’s no better place to train for superstardom than D&B. We wanted to capture the drama, hard work and exuberance of the pupils, and getting them to break into song felt a natural next step on from watching their rehearsals and performances. The songs they perform are all hits we know and love. To go from reality into a music video performance and back into reality again is a really exciting experience for viewers, and it’s been a joy to make for Series Director Ben Cook and his brilliant production team.”

Stage School is an E4 commission. The production company is Knickerbockerglory. The Executive Producer is Jonathan Stadlen.
