E4 opens the doors to Bizarre ER

Category: News Release

A 10-part series of Bizarre ER will air on E4 later this year. The series will be casting an irreverent look of the funniest and strangest things to rock up in some of Britain’s biggest and busiest A&E departments.

The new series will follow some of the most extreme and unusual casualties arriving at four hospitals across the UK: Dudley, Basingstoke, Warwick and Newport,  Isle of Wight. The series will follow every step of the patients’ story - from their unfortunate moment they arrive at A&E to the sympathy, surgery, stitches and suppressed laughter.

The 10 x 60’ series is produced by Maverick TV, with Series Editor Shannon Delwiche and commissioned for E4 by Formats Commissioning Editor Simone Haywood and Head of Formats Dom Bird.

Commenting on the commission, Simone Haywood said: “We love extraordinary real life tales and when it comes to medical formats, the team at Maverick have an excellent reputation for making brilliant and bold television. The new Bizarre ER promises to combine the much-loved access to patients and staff with E4’s unmistakeable personality.”

Simon Knight, Chief Executive Officer at Maverick TV adds: “We’re excited to create an all new series of Bizarre ER for E4. Over the years we’ve witnessed countless medical mishaps, as well as learning from dozens of hard-working frontline staff about some of the most unusual A&E cases ever seen. ”

Bizarre ER will TX in Autumn 2016.
