12 Yard Productions, the ITV Studios’ owned indie, has been recommissioned by E4 to make two new series’ of Coach Trip.

The new order follows on swiftly from an initial recommission of the show earlier this year, when Coach Trip: Road To Ibiza aired on E4 in the 7.30pm slot to considerable success.

The first of the two new series, Coach Trip: Road To Marbs will begin airing in the new year. Matt Walton and Ben Stevens are Executive Producers.

Once again, Tour Guide Brendan will lead young Brits on a voyage of discovery across Europe, with all of them hoping to reach the end of the road and win a luxury holiday. As always they have to stay popular to stay on the trip, as unpopular couples are voted off to be replaced by new ones.

“Coach Trip's successful transfer to peak after a decade in daytime has seen it find a brand new audience,” said Walton. “With the show due to break the 500 episode mark next summer, it proves that a good, solid format can have enduring popularity.”

Dom Bird, Head of Formats and Jonny Rothery, Commissioning Editor,  who commissioned the series for E4 said: “Seeing the show refreshed for the E4 audience has been a joy to watch. Brendan’s revamped coach won a legion of new fans in its new peak time slot and we’ll be keeping the show on the road with two new series in 2017.

Founded in 2001 by the creative team behind the global hit The Weakest Link, 12 Yard has gone on to become one of the world’s most successful entertainment format creators, producing hit formats including, among others, the BBC’s long-running daytime quiz Eggheads, BBC1 lottery formats In It to Win It and Who Dares Wins, and Big Star’s Little Star for ITV.

The Coach Trip format has previously reached six other international territories, including Germany, France and Turkey.
