E4's 'E Sting' competition is back

Category: News Release

Channel 4 Marketing are throwing down the challenge of designing on-air stings for E4; creative juices and weird and wonderful ideas at the ready as ‘E Stings’ returns.

The annual competition is open to anyone who fancies their chances at creating a truly unique, ten second sting for E4. Entries can be submitted from the 7th May 2013 at www.e4.com/estings

With more money in the prize pot, this year’s winner will not only win the pride and glory of seeing their very own sting broadcast on E4 but will also be handed a grand-prize of £5000. The runner up will win £500.

A selection of stings will be showcased online at E4.com and later in the year the finalists will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in glamorous London where the final winner will be revealed.

The brief is almost entirely open with the only compulsory elements being that it’s 10 seconds in length and includes E4’s logo and one of the supplied soundbeds which will all be available to download from the website.

‘E Stings’ has been running since 2005 and supports Channel 4’s continued commitment to nurture and develop new talent in exciting and innovative ways. E4’s current on air idents were created by Olly Read, whose creative talents came to the Channel’s attention when he won ‘E Stings’ in 2009.

E4 strives to be the most relevant, credible television brand for 16-34s and is viewed and loved more than any other digital channel by this age group. This was proven in 2012 when the channel celebrated its most successful year in its twelve year history.
