This Is England '90: air date and poster artwork revealed

Category: News Release

The poster was created by 4Creative and taps into the Madchester music scene and rave-spirit of 1990. The image was shot on location in Sheffield by Dean Rogers, who has been photographing the cast on set since the original film in 2006 and features from L-R: Flip (Perry Fitzpatrick), Higgy (Joe Dempsie), Smell (Rosamund Hanson), Kelly (Chanel Cresswell), Harvey (Micahel Socha), Trev (Danielle Watson), Gadget (Andrew Ellis), Milky (Andrew Shim), Shaun (Thomas Turgoose), Lol (Vicky McClure), Woody (Joe Gilgun).

Following on from This Is England ’88, renowned filmmaker Shane Meadows picks up the action in the summer of 1990 for the upcoming four-part series. From fun loving fatties, bowl hairdo's and baggy jeans, snorting whizz at the town hall discos in 'spring'. The gang become part of the loved up masses as they batter E's with thousands of new brothers and sisters in fields, forests & factories of England during the 'summer' of love.

It’s two years on since the less-than-festive Christmas of ‘88, with some of the gang embracing the new decade with more gusto than others. But a lot can happen in a year, and in true ‘This is England’ style, the second summer of love soon gives way to a winter of discontent.

This is England ’90 is written by Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne, directed by Shane Meadows and produced by Mark Herbert and Bekki Wray-Rogers.
